Qld: Police release names of shooting victims

Queensland police are continuing the hunt for two gunmen, both believed to be about
20 years old, who shot three members of one family late on Monday night on a road east
of Toowoomba.

Police have officially released the name of one man who died and of his mother and
twin brother who were injured in the shooting at Murphy's Creek.

The dead man, 31-year-old KENNETH WALTER DOIG, had suffered severe head injuries and
his throat had been cut before his body was wrapped in plastic and placed in the boot
of a blue Subaru sedan.

His mother, 58-year-old HELEN DOIG and Kenneth's twin brother BRETT, were shot when
they saw the Subaru parked off the road and stopped their own car to investigate.

BRETT DOIG has been transferred to a Brisbane hospital, while Mrs DOIG remains in a
serious but stable condition in the Toowoomba hospital.

Police have sent the two cars plus a Ford Falcon station wagon found several kilometres
from the scene to Brisbane for forensic tests.
