Qld: Coolum locked down for CHOGM
BRISBANE, Feb 26 AAP - The Sunshine Coast is under high security alert today with morethan 6,000 police and military personnel shipped in for the Commonwealth Heads Of GovernmentMeeting (CHOGM).
A lockdown has come into force at host venues the Coolum Hyatt Regency and Twin WatersNovotel, and no one is allowed to enter without strict security clearance.
CHOGM spokesman Andrew Reynolds said more than 2,400 defence force personnel and 4,000police had been moved into place within the past 24 hours, while international leaderswould filter in this week before the meeting begins on Saturday.
