Huntington police union OKs contract

HUNTINGTON - Huntington City Council is scheduled to review Dec.13 a contract the police union has unanimously approved.

The union vote on Wednesday has improved morale because contractnegotiations are no longer at a stalemate, said Sgt. Alan Rohrig ofthe Fraternal Order of Police Gold Star Lodge 65.

Negotiations had been stalled since early July.

"We've had some spirited negotiation sessions, and we're glad tohave those behind us so we can move forward with the contract,"Rohrig said.
